Flockler’s social magazine publishing platform enables editors of Mirror Football to create, customize and publish magazines combining editorial content (integrated with the publisher’s CMS / Content API), images, video and other social media content. Magazines published are optimized for iPad and other tablets, mobile and the web.

The HTML 5 web application is also available for iPad, iPhone and selected Android devices enabling readers to download the latest edition of the magazine and read it offline. Forbes told this week that AOL is launching weekly magazine “Huffington” for iPad. According to Forbes, Huffington combines “Huffington Post’s mix of original journalism and aggregated news, possibly with a small number of stories commissioned specifically for the magazine”.

iPad publishing is a hot topic - Flipboard and Pulse are growing fast, AOL already launched “Editions” and CNN bought Zite. Interesting to see, how this story continues..

Flockler joined @HackerNews event

James Pike introducing Blaggart http://blaggart.com

One of the key reasons for startups to be in London compared to dark and cold Finland (where Flockler was born) is the amount of high quality events and meetups between marketing pros, social media gurus, developers etc. Yesterday I joined “monthly” HackerNews meetup to hear some interesting presentations and do some networking. Although presentations were slightly geeky for me (don’t blame them, I’m the business guy…), I recommend you to take a look at their Meetup group and join one of their future events!
